People are always finding new ways to get fit. Whether it's with friends, tracking it on an agenda, or making your own personal goals. With Fitbit, you can do all of that with one simple app. Fitbit is a wireless wristband that can track your steps, physical activity, sleeping habits, food intake, and your weight. Better than all of that? You can sync up with your friends through Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and more, to create goals with them and even compete against them for fun.
Fitbit was created in 2007, but the product didn't launch until late 2014. The creators, Eric and James, wanted to find something with wireless sensors that could help promote everyday health and fitness. Their idea skyrocketed through social media within their launch, and their products were sold out around black Friday.
When it comes to social media, fitbit is the perfect way to challenge your friends and family to work out and get more active. You can create goals and challenges to see how many steps you can take in a day, how many minutes you can be active compared to your friends. Over time, you get badges and little rewards for being fit. You can post your progress on twitter and facebook to brag to your friends about how well you're doing, which is fun because it's a good message to show to others.
Personally, my experience with fitbit has been awesome. I track my steps around campus and I also like to track my sleep. I post to twitter and sometimes facebook when I have had a good day, showing people that even taking 10000 steps a day is quite the accomplishment for a busy college student.
