What is This Magical Creation?

Poshmark is an app, but can also be used via the internet on a desktop or laptop computer; where women can go to buy and sell their gently used, or not used clothing. It is so easy to use because all you have to do is snap some pictures of the item you want to sell, list it, share it, and then boom it sells! So then after your item sells, you package it up and mail it to your buyer.

What do I mean by “share it?” Just like when you see recent posts on Facebook or Instagram, that’s sort of how Poshmark works. Except on Poshmark when you continue to use the share button, your item will continue to be recent. This means your item will keep showing up on people’s newsfeed. It’s proven that sharing your listings leads to more sales, so it is important to be active on the app.

Did Someone Say Party?

Actually yes!

Well, sort of.

It’s called a “Posh Party!”

At certain times throughout the day there’s themed virtual parties. Each party will have a theme such as, Vacation Vibes, Casual Chic, and Back to the Basics. During parties you have the option to not just share to your followers but to the party going on also.

The coolest part of the parties is of course, the Host Picks. Just like any party, these one’s have host’s too. The hosts pick listings the believe are worthy enough to enter the “Host Pick Showroom.” In this showroom, everyone can see your listing, and there are so few that it leads to quicker sales. So you want to make sure that you’re taking awesome pictures, and having a good cover shot, because these listings stand out to hosts.

What Happens When Your Item Sells?
We all want our listings to sell so we take perfect pictures, we share our listings, and we participate in Posh Parties. So what do we do when that super awesome moment happens? We package it up like this:

Just like a business, return customers are a very important contribution to your business on Poshmark. You want to surprise your buyer with a wonderful buying experience by, packaging their item nicely, shipping quickly, and just do your best to make their buying experience as wonderful as your selling experience. Doing all that will make your buyers come back to shop your online closet again!

My Poshmark Success Story

I have been using Poshmark since October 2015, and I am addicted to it! I participate in almost every party, and I have sold about 30+ listings. My favorite part of making a sale is packaging the item up, and putting in my own personal touches. I always include a thank you note/card because that hand written note or card makes it feel more personal for the buyer.

When you sell on Poshmark, they keep a portion of the money. So, if you sell something for $20, you make $16. I try not to overprice my items just because they keep some of the money, ultimately I treat my online closet like an online garage sale. It works for me, and I have that little bit of extra money to either shop on Poshmark with, or request a direct deposit.

Poshmark is a great app, I love it because you meet some really cool people, and everyone is so welcoming. I have made some awesome “PFF,” that means Posh Friends Forever. All us women get together online and empower one another, talk about fashion, and make some money and it doesn’t get much better than that.
