Target Does It Again

Cartwheel, by Target, is a mobile money saving application. It offers digital coupons, savings and special deals. There are manufacturer deals and target exclusive coupons available. You need to register for an account, through the app. Once you are registered, you are assigned a unique bar code that is different for each user. The bar code is saved onto your app. You then can choose from different product categories and save which coupons you are interested in to your account. Cartwheel is available on multiple platforms including Apple, Android and personal computers. Although its intended use is through a mobile device, it is still accessible through a PC. The process is relatively the same. The only difference being you would have to print out your personal bar code to give to the cashier to scan at the store to receive your savings. Your personal bar code never changes, so if you print it out you could use it repeatedly to access your coupons. This would come in handy if you didn't have a smartphone to access the app. Most users have the app readily available to scan on their smartphone. My favorite part of the Cartwheel app is the Bar Code Scanner. This allows customers to find a product they are interested in, scan the products bar code and view if there is a coupon available for the item. If no coupon is available for a particular item, it will show other similar items that have savings/coupons. Target offers free WiFi so you won't have to use up your data while you scan different items to check savings. You are allowed to use the coupon for items as many times as you would like before the coupon expiration date. When you first start using the app, you have 10 "Badge" coupon spots. The more you shop and save, the more "Badge" coupon spots you are given. You also can earn new "Badge" spots for reaching achievements like using your first discount or saving increments you have achieved.

Like many other people, I am an avid Target shopper. This app is so convenient to use and beats clipping coupons in the newspaper! It is very user friendly. They actually just revamped the app recently and its even easier to navigate. Although the Cartwheel app has over 1 million users, I think they could have marketed it better. The app has been available since 2013. I was completely unaware of this app until recently when a cashier randomly asked me if I was utilizing it. Most people I have spoken about it to, were also unaware they had their own coupon application. They don't really advertise about it. I definitely think its worth using. Anything that saves me money, gets a big thumbs up!
