If you’re a big country music fan like me then I’m sure
you’ve heard of the Faster Horses Festival. This year it is the weekend of July
15-17. Headlining this year are Travis Tritt, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum,
Big & Rich, Eric Church, Alan Jackson, and Sam Hunt.
For those who don’t know what I am talking about, I’ll
explain. Faster Horses is known as the “three-day hillbilly sleepover” at MIS
in Brooklynn, Michigan. It is 3 days full of camping, partying, and country
music with headliners such as Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Carrie
Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Justin Moore, and countless more. Every year
they out do themselves with numbers rising from approximately 20,000 in its
first year to 40,000 in year 3 and still growing.
If you’re a fan of anything then probably you follow all of your
favorites on social media. You can find them on Facebook, Twitter, and
Instagram. It is nice for the fans because it helps us to feel closer to them
and make us feel like we can really connect. They post all kinds of things from
what’s happening in their personal lives to the big events that are coming up.
It’s nice to feel connected.
You can even stay connected with your favorite events as
well, like Faster Horses. Social media is how the festival grew to be so crazy
large. They are always posting updates on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Through these channels you can also seek help and guidance about the event.
Whether it’s your first time and you have questions about where to park or how
early you can enter your camp site it’s all there. You can ask questions via
Facebook and see them answered rather quickly.
During the event they post updates on Twitter and Facebook.
For example, last year while we were attending the event, a huge thunderstorm
rolled in and postponed the show. They were quick to update up through these
channels and like us know to seek shelter and whether or not the concert would
resume. Almost every hour they were updating us on the status of the concert
and sure enough, after the storm passed (around 11pm), the concert was back on.
Everyone headed back to the stages and jammed to the music in the mud and mist.
Like Luke Bryan said, “Rain is a good thing.”

After the event, they still kept up with their social media
pages. If you lost something or had an issue, you could take to the events
Facebook page and have your problems solved in a timely manner. Everyone was
and is super friendly and willing to help at this event which is saying a lot
considering there over 40,000 people (most drunk, LOL) all baking in the hot
July heat.
So if you’re a country music fan like me, or just like to
camp, party and have an awesome time while enjoying great music, I highly
recommend checking out the festival. Even if you don’t like country music it’s
worth checking out. My fiancĂ© and his cousin aren’t fans either and they have
made it a tradition to go every year now. It is definitely an experience for
the books.
