Smart Phones Taking the Place of ATM Debit Cards: Chase App/Cell Phone

Long time ago when the world was going crazy with the internet, debit cards and enhanced licenses, I told myself, we are going to one day not have to use so many cards for things but just one card. One card that would have all of our information on it, bank account, insurance, personal information and anything else you can think of personally would be on there.  My thoughts, “how convenient, yet crazy because I don’t want all of my information on one card, mind you this was before “Smart Phones.”  And what would you know?!  I was wrong but I was right. You can use something else to do bank transactions and other things that has your personal information.  Not on a card though, but on your smart phone!!!

I was laying on the couch the other night watching the World News and would you know that Chase bank is coming out with a process that you can use the ATM and do transactions without a card but using your smart phone!! Instead of using your ATM debit card for Chase's card less ATMs, customers will tap their smartphone onto the ATM, use a fingerprint, and type a PIN onto the ATM pad, according to a Chase video. Or customers can request an access code through the Chase mobile app, enter it at the ATM, and then enter their PIN for the transactions.  "We're doing this because the way our customers bank is changing — using their phones, online and ATMs more than going to tellers for routine transactions," Chase said in a statement. It says ATM transactions now exceed teller transactions. Chase said its ATMs, including the new ones, can perform about 60 percent of the transactions that customers can handle at the teller window.” You can even scan your checks and do direct deposit without ever going to the bank.

I am not so sure if I want to use my fingerprint to access my account for anything. However, these are the signs of the times, where soon we will be required to have smart phones to make moneyless transactions for everything.
