For my blog I wanted to find some apps that would be an asset to the business.  While I found many great apps for business and personal use, I want to just mention a couple that really caught my attention.
In life and business, we come across many different business cards for different people and businesses.  While some may be OCD compulsive enough to be able to keep up with them all & have it near when you need them, most people are typically not that organized.  It usually goes something like this… “Here’s my card, call me if you ever need anything!” Card goes into your pocket, purse, or wallet and sits there.  If you’re somewhat organized you might get around to adding it to your contacts, or maybe add it to the rest of the cards.
Well now there’s a great new app that lightens the paper trail of business cards and keeps them all in one organized location.  It’s called Cam Card, the business card app loved by 100 million customers.  With Cam Card, you can easily scan, manage, sync, and exchange business cards. Just scan any paper cards you get using the app & your devices camera, this app can accurately read 16 languages, exchange e-cards quickly between users, manage your contacts by adding notes, setting reminders, quickly search, tag, and share.  Get notified when your contacts info changes companies or promotes to new positions. Access anywhere on any device, sync between devices to keep a full list always available.  You can also create a personal profile to make yourself better known to your colleagues or follow your contacts companies to get the latest news.  I can’t wait to download this app and empty my bag of business cards!  You can find more about it here   https://www.camcard.com
Another great app I found for business use is called Word Lens/Google Translate.  For anyone who travels abroad or comes up against foreign language text. This app can change the language in real time without the use of the internet.  Quickly change from English to Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Russian and any language back to English. You can watch the video showing how it works here https://youtu.be/h2OfQdYrHRs
For personal use I recommend checking out these other great life apps:
Carrot – A to-do list app that makes getting things done a game.
Everest – An app to help achieve life goals
Money Tracker – An app to keep track of all incoming and outgoing expenses.
Versus – An app that allows you to easily compare items you’re considering for purchase.

Social Media Revives Surge

What is the One of the Biggest things social media in the past year? How about a group of people that catches the attention of a billion dollar company to re-release an old favorite. I'm taking about the Surge movement. Back in September of 2014 a group started a social media page call The Surge Movement which was simply a group of people who all shared one common love, Surge the citrus soda which was originally created in 1994 by Coca Cola to compete with Mountain Dew. By 2001 Surge was cancelled with a following left wondering when they would taste they're top citrus choice in beverages again.

One Year ago after these fans paid for a billboard that read "Hey Coca Cola we can't buy surge so we bought Billboard Instead." They were granted the satisfaction of Surge being sold on Amazon.com after over a decade of lifelessness. But the success did not stop there. Two months ago in a meeting at the Detroit Distribution Surge was announce that it would be sold in stores starting September 7th. Four days later Surge was sold out in the Metro Detroit Area because of the high demand.
On this instance social media was used as a tool to first find a common interest. In that common interest a group of people were able to common with a goal to achieve their common desire. It is this story, that gives social media more power than any study group or test lab because people came together and voices their desires to the largest beverage company in the world. And a year later now the common person and find out what all the fuse is about by picking one off the shelf.

One purpose one goal one people, in my opinion this is one of the greatest things we have seen social media do because it shows that the little guy has a voice nowadays. Before social media the was only an email. But with it, ideas become actions and actions bring the supply to demand. Go Surge!

A bang for your buck!!

The  krazy women who run thekrazycouponlady.com are not unlike the typical stay-at-home wives and mothers of children, committed to saving money for her family.
Eager to share they began blogging about their strategic coupon clipping. Heather and Joanie have appeared on the Today Show, The Early Show, TLC, The Nate Berkus Show, Fox & Friends, and been featured in many national web and print articles.   Like most American families, Heather Wheeler and Joanie Demer were not happy about their grocery bill and needed to find a way to feed their family without spending an arm and a leg. With Stacking coupons, sales and store promotions the two have been able to succeed in just that and sometimes paying only pennies for your purchases to boot.   With 10 days to become The Krazy Koupon Lady tutorial for beginners on their site, you should be on the right track to be as successful as they are.  I am a very busy mother of 3 kids, a wife, student and professional, I have used many websites to find a deal and this site, by far has surpassed my expectations.  What makes them so different from other coupon matching sites?  Well, their website is full of fun tips, fun videos, deal scenarios, hacks, coupons, reviews and stores to shop at with links and an option for a printable list.  They even break down multiple deal scenarios for each store and give links to print out the coupons you may or may not need. Recently they have introduced the app, which I thought was super exciting.  Every day they match hundreds of new coupons with sales and promotions to bring you the very best deals!  Whether shopping online or heading to the supermarket.. If you are always trying to save a buck or two this website and app is user friendly and I recommend giving it a try.

Looking for something Yelp it!

Russel Simmons and Jeremy Stoppelman founded Yelp in 2004. It has millions of businesses worldwide that let you read reviews before visiting establishments from where to grab a bite to eat to where a good place is to get your tires changed.

As a business owner, you can advertise and Yelp helps drive more business their way by using targeted ads and upgraded profile. Ads can appear on business pages and viewed from the search results. Yelp offers branded profiles and enhanced profiles as options. The branded profile offers video option, slide show, or a call to action feature. The enhanced provides the same features as the branded but includes the option of removing ads from competitors from your profile.

It is safe to say that businesses are taking note of yelp. Many times when you check into places like Applebee’s they will offer you a free appetizer. You just show the server your phone and they bring you the free appetizer right to your table. I have read many reviews and seen that managers do sometimes respond to “yelpers” especially if the review was not a good one.

As consumers, most of us have probably used Yelp from time to time for one reason or another. You can find much more than just restaurants, however this is the main what I have used it. You can look up anything from taxi services, to construction services, to pet stores.

You can pull Yelp up on any mobile device, computer or tablet from anywhere, write reviews, check-in to businesses and even upload photos! Look up addresses and phone numbers, call a business, or make reservations directly from the app. There is also an event tab to search for local events based date and even category. There is a “talk” tab on the site so you can chat with other “yelpers.” This for me is a little over the top people posting just any ole thing i.e. Bruce Jenner interview, what does this have to do with the site.

As you can see, you can view so much on yelp. If you want to find something by neighborhood, distance, rating, or price, then this is the app for you – go check out YELP!  No matter how many miles you are from home, yelp will find you the closest place of your interest.
