Instagram is an app where you can post pictures or short
videos, as many sites you follow people whose pictures you want to see and
people can follow you. Instagram has been ad free since they started but starting
in 2015 they have incorporated ads as well now as you scroll through picture of
friends and family you now will have a sponsor post as well. As of right now
only large company have been able to post sponsored ads but Instagram says soon
it will open up for all size businesses. Instagram an Facebook have partnered
up to focus ads around people you follow and things you like on Instagram and
as Facebook already does seeing what apps and websites you visit. These ads
only come up about every 20 post or so I haven’t seen a real patter but the ads
so far are mostly movies premiering the coming week also I've seen Ben and
Jerry’s ads. I believe as of right now the ads are okay because not many businesses
have access to it but I feel as if once Instagram opens up to all business
there may be a problem to keep a balance between the amount of ads to real
people post ratio. Which I believe is where many social sites lose their audience
because they become over run with ads. But as or right now the amount of ads on
Instagram is hardly notice able. The ads take advantage of both images and
video keeping people interested as Facebook most Instagram videos start play as
soon as you see them making the ads look like regular post which helps with views of the ads as you can see this Fast and Furious 7 ad has 52,792 likes which means a lot of people have watched it showing good results.
