Sometimes it’s nice to get away from the social media sites
that all of your friends and family are part of. What if there was a social
media site that allowed you to express yourself, your likes and dislikes
without worrying about offending those sensitive sally’s on your other
accounts. Well Tumblr (https://www.tumblr.com/) is a place where
you can freely express and create your own personal sanctuary; a place to
escape. They don’t require you to put any personal information on your page,
nothing that people can look you up by: name, email, phone number, etc. Adding your personal information is totally
optional. Tumblr is a site that you can
access from your computer or any smart device.
By downloading the app you can Tumbl from your smart phone, tablet,
iphone, or ipad. Tumblr is similar to
other social media sites in the sense that you can follow people and others can
follow your page as well. Tumblr allows
you to follow not only people but blogs about the thing that interest you. There can be many blogs about the same topic
but you can choose which one of these blogs you relate/ interest you the most
and follow that particular one. Some are
daily bloggers, weekly, monthly or occasionally. The sky is the limit with Tumblr. It allows you to blog, microblog, post and
reblog pictures, videos, and other’s blog posts. If you enjoy poetry or writing you can post
your work onto your blog. You don’t have
to follow anyone on Tumblr it can be a place to write, vent, and look up things
that are of interest to you. I enjoy
Tumblr it gives me the option of having personal ties to the people I follow
and who follow me. None of my followers do I actually personally know but they
enjoy my blog and the things that Ipost and there is no judgement. I see Tumblr as a judge free zone. It’s a collection of thousands of bloggers
blogging about the thing that they love.
