Mobile Wallets and the effects on Marketers
Mobile Wallet have become more and more popular. I’ve been an IPhone user for so many years; I
love the fact that I can use my phone for so many things in my life. Recently
Apple Pay and Google Wallet have become more popular; there is more demand
especially in the last year. Google Wallet offers the convenience of storing
your bankcards, loyal cards, traveling tickets and more, additionally Google Wallet
helps you organize all your tools. Forrester Research has conducted a research
on Google Wallet and Apple Passport, according to their research “50% of adult
smartphone users want to store their loyalty program points, rewards, coupons,
offers and more in their mobile wallets.” The purpose of this research is to
inform marketers of the opportunity to engage and connect with consumers. Since
most of us use the phone to get information marketers would be able to push
information through Mobile Wallets. Marketers have the ability to send
reminders to consumers moreover they can trigger a reminder as you get closer
to the store. I’m not sure if this good or bad. It may become overwhelming. As
much as I appreciate my phone helping me find information and reminding me
certain things I’m not sure if I’m ready to start receiving push notifications
on my phone telling me to go inside a certain store just because I’m passing
by.
